The L.E.A.D. program replaces the D.A.R.E. program. The program stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs. The purpose of the unit is to integrate officers into the City’s learning environment so they can bring drug awareness to middle school children. L.E.A.D. focuses on prevention methods and recognizes students that demonstrate outstanding performance in the program. Officers assigned to the unit are trained through a national program.
