Easter Egg Hunt
The Department of Recreation sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt every year. The hunt is for Elizabeth children between 2 years - 8 years of age. The department alternates between 2 city parks which are Carteret Park and Kellogg Park.
There is no entrance fee.
Kids to Parks Day
To reconnect families with the outdoors, the Elizabeth Recreation Department hosts various events throughout the city's parks on May 20th. To find out more about the national holiday, visit this page.
There is no admission fee for any of the activities.
4th of July Fireworks Display
Annually, there is a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. It takes place at dusk on July 4th at Veteran's Park located Front Street.
There is no entrance fee.
National Night Out
Celebrating the community, National Night Out is about bringing everyone in the city together to bond, have fun, and enjoy our neighborhoods. It occurs every year on the first Tuesday in August. To find out more about the national holiday, visit this page.

Back to School: Book Bag and School Supply Giveaway
As a collaboration between departments and commercial stores, the City prepares for the upcoming school year by handing out free back packs and school supplies to Elizabeth children towards the end of August. Typically paired with music and food, it's an event for all residents to enjoy.

Harvest Festival
As a collaboration between departments, the City of Elizabeth celebrates the Autumn season during the month of October. Residents are able to attend any one of our recreation centers in creative costumes to enjoy an evening of candy, music, and other fun activities.
