Engineering

The Division of Engineering and Administration, the head of which is the City Engineer, is responsible for: 

  • The preparation of all plans and specifications for public works and improvements undertaken by the City
  • Supervision of the performance of all contracts for public works and certify the amounts due and payable thereunder
  • Provision and maintenance of surveys, maps, and specifications with respect to all public property, works and facilities owned or operated by the city government
  • Maintenance of the Official Tax Maps of the City
  • Oversight and management of utility construction activities within the public right of way
